Halloween!

Oh you know, October 31st.  About a month ago, Miles wanted to be a mummy.  To his credit, he never deviates once he chooses (last year, he was "Mickey Mouse's Shadow" and he never changed his mind. Easiest costume ever, after we borrowed ears.).

But I ended up getting a(n) EMT costume on sale, and he loved it.  So, here he is: 

We stopped by the fire station to get a picture with the ambulance, but they were pulling out just as we were arriving. :-(

Miles has never experienced neighborhood trick or treating; we always go to Fairhaven.  For those of you not familiar with Bellingham, it's a historic district and a vibrant part of our community.  Lots of local, independent merchants, etc.  We arrived right at 3:00, and were home by 4:00, just when the rain started.  Miles, to his credit, likes candy, but doesn't go crazy over it.  He had one piece on our way home, and then one for dessert, and will save the rest.  I filtered out the candy with peanuts (he's allergic) and will bring those, as well as my leftovers to my class tomorrow for the hungry college kids.  With the rain, we only got two families of trick or treaters tonight so there will be lots to go around.
