Signing

We've been signing with Miles since he was an infant. Some of the signs he uses regularly are "more" (see photo below), "please" and "all done." More usually refers to when he wants more food, but it also means he wants more of something else (tossing the ball, chasing, tickling, etc.) But his sign for "more" also sometimes means that he simply wants something, like to open a cabinet door. He says "mo-mo" while signing.

Regarding words, I have yet to capture his speaking on video (other than "trash") but Miles has about 50 words he uses regularly, though I'm sure he is comprehending far more. Some of his words are "da" for dog and truck (the "da" for truck is usually louder, like "DAH!"), "ba" for ball and balloon, "flau" for flower, " and "per" for zipper. No phrases or two-word sentences yet...maybe soon!

He had a few "rough" days last week, in which he was super cranky, whiny, and clingy. But that seemed to have passed, and that last few days have been joyful! We just had a very quick visit to my parents' house:

Family Reunion

My cousin Isabel was visiting from DC...Ethan, Miles, and I went down for a reunion/early birthday party for her. Miles had a good time (and so did we!):

"Trash"

I may have mentioned that Miles loves trash. He will find things on the floor -- string, hair, little bits of food -- and toddle to the trash can, all the while announcing "shrash."
