Fluffy Fluff-fur

Kathy's visiting, and the weather Goddesses have blessed us with good weather: sunny and temps in the 50s (East Coasters, don't laugh!). This morning, we went to a "Memory Teddy Bear" workshop sponsored by our local Hospice, and a wonderful volunteer named Gwen helped us make this bear:

Gwen did 100% of the sewing, with a little help from me, Miles, and Kathy. Miles stuffed him. The bear's body is made from a t-shirt of Ethan's, and it's such a nice thing for Miles to have. Miles named him Fluffy Fluff-fur (I made the mistake of calling him "Fluffy Fluffer" and was adamantly corrected.). "Mama, it's Fluffy Fluff-FURRRRR."

Vancouver (again)!

Miles & I went to Vancouver, BC again this past weekend. My dear friend Eva (from Penn State) was there for a conference, and never declining an opportunity to visit Vancouver, we went up for a long weekend. Here we are at Tableau Bistro, where we had a lovely dinner:
We stayed at The Loden, a "boutique hotel" downtown (I got an amazing deal online!) The bathroom was separated from the main room by a sliding door. Miles liked the big TV, and I liked the luxurious room.

Miles & I spent much of Sunday at Stanley Park, mostly at the Vancouver Aquarium. He loved the jellyfish, and we watched the dolphin show and got close-up views of the beautiful Beluga whales.

The Zoo

Miles, my mom, and I went to the Woodland Park Zoo today...within the last month, Miles has given up the midday nap, so it's nice that we can go on longer outings. We got there around noon, and had nice (but chilly) weather. We were just leaving the Zoo when it started raining!
