Spring Break

Miles & I have just returned from a (too short) visit to Minnesota. We went to Lego Land, the Minnesota Childrens' Museum, and generally hung out with our dear friends, the Stahls. Here is Miles asleep on the plane ride home:

Mr. Giggles

Miles has recently begun to play with this Exer-saucer again. It has been sitting in the corner of our office for many, many months. I was about to sell it on Craig's List, but today, he wanted to get in (and then out) of it. So I think I'll keep it awhile longer. We had an absolutely lovely day together today; I usually don't work Fridays, and we spend the day at a play group or running errands and going for a walk (with a nap for him mid-day).

I brought him to campus after his nap, and with the students gone for spring break, Miles had run of the hallway and open spaces. I wish I had thought to bring my camera; he was so joyful! Running around the plaza, sitting in the desks, exploring the hallways...what fun! I also bought him his first pair of "real" shoes today, and he is looking like a little kid!

18-month appointment

Miles had his 18-month well visit today:
  • Height: 5-10th percentile (31")
  • Weight: 25% percentile (24 lbs., 10 oz.)
  • Head: 75th percentile!
So basically I have a short, fat, big-headed kid. He's batting viral bronchitis, but is otherwise doing really well.

Bathtime/Bedtime

Mr. Splash!

And, here are some post-bath pre-bed photos:

Here he is, with upside-down-finger-in-mouth. It's a sure thing that sleep is imminent. Miles cannot sleep without his comfort object; he has two rotating "loveys," either a pink pig or a brown puppy. (Actually, there are a total of five (three pigs, two dogs) that rotate in and out of laundry.) There is always one at daycare as well. He doesn't have a preference for either, but I often observe him clutching the puppy's ear. I'm embarassed to say this, but their names are "puppy-wuppy" and "piggy-wiggy." It must be hard-wired that mommies rhyme everything!

Snow Day(s)

The Puget Sound has been getting snow the past few days. Isn't it almost spring?

Miles watching the snow fall from his "perch" at Grandma & Grandpa's house in Seattle.

Getting ready to "ski" with Grandma's boots on (and Grandpa's shoe horns). This is not a posed shot; he wanted to wear the boots, and then gestured for the shoe horns!
